MeMyself&I

MeMyself&I
Hey everyone! This is my first post here (obviously lol) but I have been browsing for the past few weeks. I have a project I am working on and I have found that most of the insight and information I have been able to gather for it has come from this forum. So I decided to join and see what all I can learn!

A bit of background on me, but I started collecting articulated figures (and some statues) last July when I purchased my first Figmas. That has spiraled into my wanting to collect (on a budget of course!) articulated figures in general. I watch a particular Youtube channel that specializes in action figure reviews and customs, which helped inspire me to start wanting to customize my own stuff. To that end I have found that aside from (and I believe the term is "kitbashing") the fairly universal compatibility of Figmas with each other, there is next to nothing for 1/12th figures. That led me to the world of 1/6th and ultimately finding this forum. Also during this time, with the help of youtube as well, I have been learning to sculpt (however slowly) and hope to be able to make a head sculpt for a figure one day that is not just a potato with hair!

As for my project(s), I am a fan of fighting games and anime and I would like to try my hand at a few of my favorite characters. However, some of these characters just simply don't exist (in any scale), or they are so poorly done they aren't worth it, or they do exist and if I have to spend that kind of money I might as well do it the way I want. I have taken the mentality of "want something done right, do it yourself" with this. I am frustrated by the lack of consistency in numbers on any number of bodies, namely from TBLeague. I have noticed on giantoy's site that in the package details they are giving BWH for some of the female bodies that are coming soon, which has been great info, but not all of them have it in the description. I haven't looked for any detailed info for male bodies either, but I figure one thing at a time (fighting game male characters are, IMO, easier in the body department. Ryu is not exactly small, especially by SFV designs). That info would be awesome when it comes to how I want to go about my projects, it is just so varied and incomplete.

My question then is simply this: Does anyone have a resource I could use to see the heights (or any of the other measurements I mention above) of the TBLeague bodies?

Thanks for reading and I look forward to what all I learn on here!

Hi MeMyself&I,

I think such resources have been attempted in the past, before the birth of this forum, but they have inevitably fallen behind with the releases of new products. Here is one site that tries to summarize, but it doesn't always give the height (and the height it gives for the female figures may be with a head) -- the earlier bodies might all be about 28 cm tall.
https://www.moviefigures.co.uk/blogs/news/phicen-tbleague-action-figure-body-comparison-chart

I've culled some info from my reviews or responses to new product threads below.

I have rarely reviewed the female figures because someone usually beats me to them, but
S23B is about 27 cm (10.5 in) tall to the top of the neck peg (i.e., no head)
S29B is about 27.5 cm tall with a head

For the male figures, you can see my detailed reviews:

M30 http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-062916b.htm
28 cm (11 in) without head, about 29.5 cm (11.6 in) with a head

M31 http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-062916b.htm
30 cm (11.8 in) without a head, about 31 cm (12.2 in) with a head

M32 http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-120216b.htm
29 cm (11.4 in) without a head, about 30 cm (11.8 in) with a head

M33 http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-120916b.htm
28.5 cm (11.25 in) without a head, about 29.5-30 cm (11.6-11.8 in) with a head

M34 http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW-021717b.htm
29 cm (11.4 in) without a head, about 30.5 cm (12 in) with a head

M35 https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t247-tbleague-phicen-m35-updated-photo-heavy
29.5 cm (11.5 in) without a head, about 30.5 cm (12 in) with a head

M36 https://onesixthfigures.forumotion.com/t1055-phicen-tbleague-superflexible-seamless-male-body-m36-review-updated-with-part-2
about 33.5 cm (13.25 in) with a head

Thanks for the reply GubernatorFan, your info will come in handy for sure! I saw what you meant when you said that it is a question that has had answers before, but has ultimately fallen out of date. That is part of what has made this so challenging, and why I decided to ask directly, as it is difficult to compile it all. I was kinda hopeful that maybe I missed a list or something (minus the link you have above for moviefigures) as I have been all over looking. I am putting all of these links in a bookmark folder for reference. Actually, putting two and two together, I think I got sidetracked researching this by reading your hot toys Star Wars reviews on mwctoys lol.

You are very welcome! I hope it is helpful.

If you are enjoying my HT Star Wars reviews at mwctoys, there are more recent ones on this site:

If you search for Star Wars in the search box, you will get to all sorts of other Star Wars-related stuff, much of it satire, like:

There are, of course, more cases of Star Wars buffoonery in the OSF Funnies thread...

Welcome! Smile

I always check Giantoy's comparison page. They have a nice photo (which you need to manually open in a separate tab/window for full size):

Thank you for the welcome and posting that! I have seen it, but for whatever reason I can NEVER get the stupid thing to come up at full size. Now I have it. *sigh* I hate technology some days despite how useful it is lol.

A side note as I research all of this, but on Amazon, who is this brand Anyota that is selling the TBL figures? They have solid ratings, and don't seem to be anything clearly bad, but it just seems weird as their listing for the s07c body has a head sculpt I have never seen in any other promotional image. They even use the promo image for the s07c

I’m not sure about that company, but the s07c is one of the early Phicens (before they switched to TBLeague) — so it may be the original head sculpt that came with that body. Post a link to it, and I can verify if that is correct. And welcome to the madness that is 1/6 collecting and kitbashing.

Thanks, and madness is a great way to describe it!

Because I am new, I can't post external links just yet. "Anyota 1/6 Scale Female Body S07C Seamless Action Figures Dolls Large Breast Size Full Silicone Super Flexible" is the listing on amazon though.

Found it. The blank head is just a place holder, but they are actually selling the early Phicens — still a steel skeleton, but it has floppy feet that are pretty useless. If you put the body in hollow boots that fit fairly tight, you can get them stand on their own (they need the ankle support) — if you use, say... high heels, or something similar, you’ll need a stand. That head in those promo shots doesn’t come with the body.

Cool. Thanks for the confirmation! It not coming with a headsculpt is fine with me as I intend to make my own. I've seen that before with the seamless feet, but a stand is fine with me honestly. Boots are likely in this character's future though, so either way that's a potential win. I am not sure yet what I am going to grab as the first one, but the s07c is basically the top of the list right now.

Well, I decided to purchase a S09C. I will post more detailed thoughts and what I am planning for it, but I'll say for now is that these are super nice. The character I am doing will come in a little bigger than 1/6th when scaled properly, but yeah. I am already planning on which one I buy next.
