Phicen/TBLeague - PLMB2017 S19B (suntan)
Any opinions on scale? portrait to body radio? ..neck thickness.

Ignore the pose. Backdrop a work in progress.
Also, the image shows how dark the portrait skin is compared to the Phicen/TBLeague Suntan lightness/darkness levels, which look light.

I think i will use the other t-shirt and position the NYU logo higher up. 2 or 3mm higher.

Thanks. It is improving. I'm still considering Phicen S25B (suntan). The 1cm height reduction, the narrower neck would look better.

Progression. T-shirt size reduced. Phicen size increased.
The t-shirt on upper arms works better now.

I refresh comparison image. Maybe her neck quite wide. t-shirt length works well.

Some more stretching on the t-shirt sleeves, neck areas would add something.

The body size is definitely an improvement. And from the pics, the neck doesn't seem too bad at all. : )

I actually think she looks pretty good. Pose her up and futz her a bit, and I think she’ll look great.

I think i will stick with this Phicen. The high is correct after all.
Once the backdrop is complete, i will work on posing the figure Smile

As Stryker2011 knows already, i have another head sculpt on the way. Who knows how the paint might work our in the hands of a different painter. Lighter hopefully.

It is definitely easier to match the colour of the tbleague body with the paintjob, rather than try to match an existing paintjob to a body. Best thing is to send the body you want to use to the painter so they can make sure the head matches. : )

Or just send one of the hands instead of the whole body (unless the painter already owns one of the bodies).

I was going to say that the neck on the S19 doesn't look too thick. That on the 3D render does, compared to the actual screen capture. So I think you are well on your way to getting it to look right. In a perfect world, you would be able to make the hair match more closely. But I know these heads are resin, and sanding down resin to the point where you can re-hair it with "real" hair is a pain in the derriere.

Not much i can do about the hair, as the hair is based on another character.
I guess someone more skilled than me could sculpt on longer hair.

Put the other t-shirt to use. Raised up the NYU logo. The gap between the top of the 'NYU' and neckline has been reduced by 3mm, which makes it more accurate. (left) is the original (right) is the update. Meanwhile, the base is edging ever closer to completion. It takes me ages gluing wood together, sanding it, painting it. Balsawood is odd to work with, soft, easy to dent.

I still think the Phicen is too tall. I would place the 1/6 head sculpt at the smaller end of 1/6 scale, if compared to a Hot Toys head sculpt. A Phicen that is 1cm short might be the way to got, and feature a smaller neck size.

I think the t-shirt does look even better. Now that you mention it, yes, the head sculpt does appear a tad small on this body, whereas the still from the movie suggests a larger head (of course, some of this is the hair, but not all). Maybe do try the S25B after all (I think you need suntan). It will make the head look bigger (hopefully not overly so -- it does work well enough with HT Gamora and HT Leia heads in terms of size -- see HERE, HERE, and the "undressed" photos HERE), and it will do the same for the t-shirt.

Thanks for posting links.
The Star Wars shots look phenomenal. Figures, posing, backdrop work well.

I ordered some 1/6 socks today, as i do not like visible foot seams.

You are very welcome and thank you. Hope they are helpful in deciding. I made an extra note on "classic buns Leia" in the Happy Endings thread.

Completely agree on the visible foot seams (and hand seams for that matter), but I do value function over absolute seamlessness in appearance; I could edit it out digitally, except that I'm usually showcasing the body and its pros and cons, so that would make it less informative, and at other times I either forget or can't be bothered. Small update. The base is getting there. It is taking longer than planned.
The base has been stained the color it is, although most of it will be covered by.
The pink wall represents the wall behind JA. The skirting board has yet to be painted, as i am waiting for some paint thinner to arrive.
I fixed the light green wall complete with painted wood door frame and skirting board. I worked on a color that is off white, slightly grey yellow, as i did not want that new bright white look, as in the movie, the woodwork looks aged.

Thanks.
One thing i have discovered is the process of sanding (wood) painting it a few times,
then sanding the paint. It flattens the paint slightly to make brush strokes less visible.

One area that eats up time and causes delay is the gluing of wood. Every time i glue one
piece of wood, i leave it to set for 12+ hours. Such is the nature of wood glue. I don't mind.

For a really strong bond, I’d give it 24 hours— it may not seem important, but I’ve broken pieces apart just handling it — especially if you don’t use enough glue.

Project - Nurse Alex Price (from An American Werewolf In London) - Page 5 Socks
LOADING: Image

Socks. The socks arrived today. It's an addition i decided to add, as A. i don't like seams.
B. The skin shade differs from foot to leg.

I picked up the socks off of ebay. When they arrived they were too small, even although they were
sold as 1/6 scale. The seller took them back and made me a larger pair, based on Phicen/TBLeage
foot measurements. I went with purple socks, as i figured, given the style of sweater/jumper Nurse
Price wears during the movie, they would possibly be the type of socks she might wear?

I am working on the width of the door way. Originally i was going to go with 12cm
Now i am thinking 14cm looks more correct. My door way cuts off at the 30cm mark. If i were to
include the full height, they might be as high as 40cm. Not your normal height door sizes.

The plan for the grey felt is for it to represent a grey rug. For the moment i cannot think of any other
material to use.

A seller who is nice enough to make items to order? Should you share with our members who that is?

PLMB2018-S25B Med Bust Suntan arrived today. I just popped on the head and t-shirt, and yes, massive improvement. It looks correct like a Hot Toy. The PLMB2017-S19B was too large. The medium bust size of the PLMB2018-S25B could reducing.

Yay, glad it worked! The s25b is one of my favourite tbleague bodies, aside from the bust, which I agree should be smaller. I have made bust reductions on this one, but unfortunately it requires 'damaging' the bust area a bit, so tends to only work if you are planning to keep the figure permanently clothed.

Would love to see pics of her on the s25b. Smile
