I posted just the head sculpt. Skin tones will not match the body 100%
I guess if you want the skin color to match then they might want the body.

Your best bet to send them a message via Instagram. Their response time can be fast, but not always.

When i posted the head sculpt i included some photo's to give them an idea of what i wanted. Really i left it in their hands to see what they would come up with.

Their Instagram page shows many impressive paint apps. While they all look great, some look extra great.

If i were to pick out 4 examples from 357partment, it would probably be these 4. They all look mind-blowing.
I think the painter(s) get to show-off their skills more when it comes to the male portraits, as they get to add facial hair etc.

If i were to pick out my favourite Before and After example, it would probably be this.
It goes to show, the sculpt is only half of it. The paint app makes all the difference.

I've seen some of those before, but had forgotten the name of the studio. Thanks for the reminder.

Do you know if there is any other way to get in contact with them aside from instagram? No offense to the platform, but I absolutely loathe it, lol. Would rather contact people via alternative methods.

Wow I guess that paintjob was well worth it's price, really great job, they even made the solid hair pop like it's real. I also think, better let them work with their own references, techniques and colors, the body can still be painted later. No point in getting her face painted in tbleague suntan/grey when it's too different from the original.

Anyone else feels like there are tons of beautiful custom figures made, but the people who buy them don't show them that much? I follow some artists on Instagram who get so much out of old weird headsculpts it's stunning. They somehow turned that rather simple Catwoman into Cara Dela-etc.
I wonder if there was ever a realistic face paint of that stylized well known GiJoe head? That would be a fun alternative look for Bam's new tbleague Jake. Laughing

NECA REVEALS NIGHTMARE DEMONS FROM ‘AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON’

Well, these look cool. Only last month Neca revealed the Kessler Wolf
I wonder if they have more characters planned? David and Jack for example.

The 7-inch figures are based off of The Nightmare Demons that appear in the main character David’s dreams. Releasing August 2021
the figure will include 4 interchangeable heads, 3 firearms, 2 knives, and torch as well as other accessories.

Man! Why can’t we get official 1/6 scale AWIL figures. Not a big fan of the smaller scales, though these do look pretty good.

There was a company called Pop Culture Shock who showed some prototype figures at a show. They never made it to market. Their Kessler wolf looked way better than the NECA effort. It is good to see An American Werewolf In London still to this day attracts attention. I wish Hot Toys would show some love for horror movies from the past (and present).

First off, outstanding progress. Really blows me away with how good everything looks and the detail added so far. I also have a small critic but it's more of a question I have yet to find an answer for my own projects. Is it possible to replicate the folds and wrinkles in her shirt as she has in the reference photo at the 1/6 scale? I know it's really difficult with how thick the materials can be at a 1/6 scale, but maybe someone has found a way to cheat it without resorting to breakable tissue-thin materials.

I don't know if this helps or not, but I was handling a vintage doll this afternoon and noticed that some of the folds on the skirt were tacked in place by thread. It certainly gave me the idea to try this out sometime -- aka, sewing or tacking the folds into place. It would of course probably depend on the item of clothing and how well you could hide the thread.

It might be possible to iron folds into the fabric.
For extreme folds, small slithers of wonder-web could be ironed in place, assuming the fabric folded one on top of another.

Those are good suggestions as well!

I also remembered -- certain types of fabric (such as pure silk) can be sort of 'sculpted' into place using water. You probably know this already, but thought I'd mention just in case.

20 days, shipping South Korea to the UK
The painted portrait arrived today.
The shipper box had taken some damage, but luckily 357parment pack head sculpts in a plastic bag, wrapped in bubble-wrap, inserted into sponge, protected by a metal box. The metal box is surround by more bubble wrap. Given their post price, they should really ship using express DHL (or similar).

The plan is to take some photo's tonight. It is supposed to be a full moon
https://www.calendar-uk.co.uk/lunar-calendar/
Providing it is a clear sky, the lighting i wanted should be present. If not, i will use artificial light ;D

Excellent. Looking forward to it. I just sent off my own Jessica head sculpt to them to get painted. Now the long wait begins.

Stryker -- I tried getting in touch with 357partment myself, but they haven't responded to me with a quote. I was contacting them via email...is there a better way to communicate with them?

Will be good to see the finished result. I assume it might turn out slightly differently, as i assume you provided source images or a link to source images.

I did not take any photo's last-night as it was cloudy, thus no moon. Might give it ago to night. I have managed to iron in a crease to the t-shirt. I did that today.

They work in their own time. I think i contacted them more than once, and they mentioned that they had read my original message. I think they have someone who deals with messages. That person then has to chat to someone else, to see if they are interested. I get the impression they are always interested, so long as they know what they are dealing with.

Going for that movie 'look'
Added a vertical crease to the t-shirt.
The portrait skin paint tone matches the silicone neck skin tone well.
I could use more experience posing.
I think this is the first time i have posted a pic featuring the small metal chain holding the curtain in place.
The plan was always to have the curtain cast a shadow onto the passage wall.

It looks very good, even in the faint light. And even there, the curtain does cast the shadow onto the wall.

Awesome job with those cinematic frames, the composition and lighting is very well done. All those little details really paid off. And the headsculpt looks gorgeous!

She looks fantastic. So impressed how this turned out. And the crease in the shirt really helps make it look more appropriate. Nice job, Shaun.

Thanks for the comments.
If a better t-shirt show's up, one with a thinner neck section, i might update the figure.

Wow you have gone a long way to reach perfection, while the original headpainting looked good it is now spectacularly realistic in the right setting and lighting also. And there is something really sinister about Micky Mouse, always has been. Total success.

Thanks.
I am happy..
The hair was never going to be correct, as the sculpt is from Logan's Run
The Micky Mouse poster should possibly feature more creases.

Having gotten involved in two Kitbash figures (Alex Price and Asami) i wonder to myself if there will be a 3rd? as they can get expensive, and time consuming.

Since i have 2x Alex Price head sculpts, i have wondered if there might be a way of adding real hair?

Of course there are. I've done a number of head conversion (i.e., rehairing) threads, and this one should get you started. I imagine the heads you have are made of resin which is a minor complication, but you should be able to whittle back/down the sculpted hair to the point where you are left with something close enough to a scalp to apply the real hair. It is easier with plastic, but some effort and patience and a sharp X-acto knife (or even a Dremel) would help. If you do use a Dremel, however, you will end up covered in resin dust, which is not only annoying but dangerous to the health.
