PLMB2018-S25B Med Bust Suntan arrived today. I just popped on the head and t-shirt, and yes, massive improvement. It looks correct like a Hot Toy. The PLMB2017-S19B was too large. The medium bust size of the PLMB2018-S25B could reducing.

Yay, glad it worked! The s25b is one of my favourite tbleague bodies, aside from the bust, which I agree should be smaller. I have made bust reductions on this one, but unfortunately it requires 'damaging' the bust area a bit, so tends to only work if you are planning to keep the figure permanently clothed.

Would love to see pics of her on the s25b. Smile

It's not a lot. What with Xmas, the background has had no work done to it. I really need to work on posing skills. The
lighting is less than great. Maybe in 2021 the situation will improve. Some good news, i have located a new painter who
has what it takes to paint the portrait to another level. Maybe in 10 weeks time i will get to see the results Smile

For a quick comparison:

The new body suits her. I’ll be interested to see the new paint job, as well. And yeah, I completely understand the posing issue — it can completely define a character if the pose is just right. ReverendSpooky and desertdragon (along with others) are masters at posing and pulling a character out of how they pose their characters.

If the new paint app turns out as good as i expect, i think it will help me pose the figure. I really should find the will to get back to working on the back drop. I have 10 weeks, i should manage something.

I think the new body helps a lot. A more subtly painted head would probably help too, although this is by no means bad. If you are going for total accuracy and purchased multiple head sculpts to play with, I wonder if you might not want to experiment with whittling away some of the sculpted/molded hair and replacing that with glued-on "real" hair. Just be aware that resin is a mess to work with. Of course you don't want to mess up a nicely painted and finished head. Ultimately, this is Jenny from Logan's Run, and you are going for Jenny from An American Werewolf in London, and the hair is quite different.

During some scenes, her hair style is not all that different. It is for sure, longer.
Maybe i will need to purchase a 3rd head sculpt. At the end of this project, it might end up amounting to the most expensive kitbash ever.. Lol!

Well, that's the thing about kitbashing... it can be expensive, especially if you are stickler for details (as one should be, and as you are), and if you are doing something that hasn't been done (even if it seems quite simple at first -- as I re-learned most recently HERE). Another alternative, but which I failed at myself, is to take a mold of the face part (just the face), with Oyumaru or InstaMorph, then make that (and the rest of the scalp/skull) with say Kneadatite, then paint and hair, etc. In principle it should work, although my casts always left something to be desired and I gave up (that's a different project, that I haven't finished or shown).

It doesn't look that oversized to me. I mean, isn't it supposed to be a guy's shirt? To me it seems to give just the right effect.

I think I know what you mean and I noticed it too, but it is a minor thing. But if you do want it to look even better, I suppose it is an issue that could be addressed... somehow. Apart for looking for a grey t-shirt with a less pronounced "collar section," perhaps putting it a lot of times through the wash and dryer to make the cloth softer and flimsier would help?

Oh, I see now what you mean about the collar being thicker. But it didin't stick out to me in a negative way at first glance.... so I guess that is something. ;p

A multiple wash might help thin the fabric out and age it. It might make sense to avoid the dryer routine, as i wouldl't want it to shrink.

Maybe turn it inside out and using fine grit sandpaper you could sand the material down a bit, give it a couple washes, and while still a little wet put it back on her and see if you can’t get it pulled down a bit to “shape” it around her shoulders better...

Made a few steps in the right direction. Edging closer to completion.
1. Glued the vertical (brown) column in place. Waited 24hrs then drilled and screwed from the bottom.
2. Once the above was complete, it was possible to calculate the correct position for the (pink) column to be placed and glued.
3. Once the above had set, i filled the vertical gaps on the left and right sides with wood filler.
4. Once the above had set, i sanded and painted over the wood filler with pink paint.
5. Cut out the Micky Mouse poster.
6. Started work on the smaller skirting boards that run along the pink walls.

..i want to get this done and dusted Smile

Patience. Sometimes the best approach is to stop whatever i am doing and get on with the base.

One item i donot have to do but have considered is the wooden bambo + beaded door curtain.
If i did go ahead and make one, i would only have to make half of it, as that is all that is on display with regards to the base design.

I have been scratching my head as to the best approach?
So far all i can think off is using cut down WD40 tubes, which would need to be painted bamboo color, as then tend to be made from red colored plastic.

UPDATE:
Project - Nurse Alex Price (from An American Werewolf In London) - Page 6 2mm-Rubber-Tube-3mm-Beads
LOADING: Image

I found some peach colored 2mm rubber tube and some 3mm natural wood beads.
These might do the trick. If construction works out, i could possibly lighting spray them with spray paint, to make the color more like bambo. The main purpose off adding the bambo curtain is to allow the option of throwing a shadow onto the pink wall.

Have you checked if there aren't some beads of this type (though not necessarily the same material, color, or finish) that might not do?

Sorry, I just meant to use it for illustration purposes, I don't know if you have Hobby Lobby in the UK, but surely other hobby or jewelry stores must have Czech Glass Straight Bugle Beads (or similar -- again, we're after the shape, not so much the material, color, or finish). Anyway, I'm sure you'll do fine. Do a google search for Czech Glass Straight Bugle Beads Size 2 (but then look at other options or similar shaped items).

I am 99% done with the backdrop. Just need to build and add the
bamboo curtain. Once the new hopefully improved portrait arrives,
i will need to work on my figure pose skills and try to take better
photo's.

I added an image of the Werewolf and included some text. The logic
being, should someone find the backdrop in the future and wonder
what the hell it is Very Happy

..and i taped down the Phicen breasts to make them smaller/flatter.

There is much room for improvement when it comes to the light-
switch, is has been made for wood. A 3D printed switch would be
good to source at some point in the future.

In this shot i have Photoshopped the light switch to the correct height.
I have since removed the light-switch, sanded the wall and painted.
Once the paint has dried, i can sandpaper the paint and attach the
light-switch into position.
